Today was a great day! I ate everything I prepared, and it was delicious! Instead of stopping at McDonald’s because I came home, said a prayer and had some delicious turkey and cabbage. I saved money and calories. I’ve done it before I just have to continue to do it. It wasn’t a particular challenge either. I think knowing I already had something at home that was good, that I didn’t have to cook helped a lot. Planning and preparing meals really works! I’m already thinking about next week’s menu. I find that if I make a pot of something (stew, chili, cabbage, etc.) and plan some other meals, that works well for me.
I can always just have a bowl of something, but if I want something different, I can change up with chicken or salmon or salad. But the best thing is that I think about the meals, plan them, and prepare them as much in advance as possible so that when I need to eat them, I have very little prepping and/or cooking to do.
I also don’t think about food as much. So at breakfast, I’m not thinking about what I’m going to eat for lunch, I already know, so all I have to do is eat it. I haven’t been craving anything either, probably because I’m eating all day long. I eat about every two hours! So between eating and drinking a lot of water, I really don’t crave stuff, so I haven’t reached for honey buns or kettle cooked potato chips.
I didn’t exercise this morning, but I did walk a lot at work and used the stairs a lot. Well, it’s the weekend. I may not go to the gym, but I will be up and active—it’s the weekend!
